Auditor Paid Extra - Vicksburg Warren Schools

Vicksburg Warren schools paid auditor extra $15,000 to $21,000 last year

Superintendent Dr. Holloway told the school board the district's outside auditor billed thousands beyond its contracted scope of work.

At the Sept. 25 regular meeting of the Vicksburg Warren School District Board of Trustees, Dr. Holloway addressed a board member's question about why the auditor does not provide a document checklist upfront. "They send an extra ... they asked for an extra 15 or 21,000 last year because they went beyond what they call the scope of the work," he said.

Holloway said the district has one year left on its three-year contract with the current auditor. The board will need to choose a replacement firm from a limited pool of state-approved auditors once that contract expires.
