SIP Manufacturing to Invest More Than $100 Million in Southaven, Creating 187 Jobs
SIP Manufacturing, a third-party beverage manufacturer and co-packer, is establishing operations in Southaven, the Mississippi Development Authority announced Wednesday, July 22. The project represents a corporate investment of more than $100 million and will create 187 jobs in DeSoto County.
The company specializes in aluminum canning, PET bottle, and aluminum bottle packaging, producing a variety of beverages including flavored waters, energy drinks, and hard seltzers. Operations will be located in an existing building in Southaven, where SIP Manufacturing will produce, package, and ship finished products to distribution centers and customers across a range of market segments.
MDA is providing assistance through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive, or MFLEX, the state's performance-based incentive program. The city of Southaven and DeSoto County are also supporting the project.
“Every new job is an opportunity for a Mississippi family to build a better future, and SIP Manufacturing's $100 million investment will create nearly 200 of those opportunities in DeSoto County,” Gov. Tate Reeves said. “I'm glad SIP Manufacturing has chosen to grow in Mississippi and become part of our state's historic success.”
SIP Manufacturing 2.0, LLC CEO Chas Aday said the expansion “allows us to better serve our customers, expand our capabilities and continue investing in the people and partnerships that have fueled our growth,” adding that the company looks forward to “becoming a long-term member of this community.”
Southaven Mayor Darren Musselwhite welcomed the announcement, saying the company's “large capital investment and creation of significant workforce opportunities will make a difference in our city.” The announcement is the latest in a run of manufacturing investments in north Mississippi this summer, following MDA announcements of Jabil's new facility in Marshall County on July 7 and Aluminum Dynamics' expanded recycled-aluminum operation in Lowndes County on July 14.
