Rankin County awards road contract

BRANDON — The Rankin County Board of Supervisors voted Aug. 14 to award a state-aid road overlay project to AJ Construction for $4,115,227.75, the low bid among three considered after an earlier bid round was rejected and the project rebid.
The county road department recommended setting the total project budget, including the state-aid transfer, at $4,814,800, and the board authorized its president to execute the contract documents.
