MCCOMB - McComb's city administrator told the Board of Mayor and Selectmen at a Sept. 1 budget work session that a proposed increase to the city's millage rate is needed to fund employee raises and rising consulting costs.
“That’s why the increase, because we wanted to be sure — especially the raises that we put in for public works — that was important to us,” the administrator told the board.
Board members discussed the increase as producing roughly $307,737 in additional revenue, against a total proposed budget of about $29.5 million for fiscal year 2027.
A public hearing on the budget was discussed for early September, though board members gave conflicting dates.
